Sarah Botchway is an adorable child from Ghana who needs $650 for her eye surgery

Sarah's story

Sarah Botchway is a three (3) year old and lives in Ghana’s Central Region. As a baby, she developed an Epibulbar Dermoid Cyst, which is causing her to go blind in her left eye and experience discomfort. This condition is treatable with surgery, which Sarah was scheduled to receive in 2014, but unfortunately, her family was unable to pay.

In January 2017, the Crowdfrica team went with Sarah to Korle Bu, the top research hospital in Ghana. We met with experts at the eye clinic to develop a treatment plan -including counseling, labs, operation, and recovery. Sarah is scheduled to visit the hospital different days for different lab tests and also to prepare her for the day she will receive the surgery.

Additional funds needed to cover transportation, food, and lodging in Accra for her and her family has been added to the amount needed for her treatment. Today, we’re asking you to help us raise $650 to help get Sarah the treatment she needs and make sure no one else is turned away from necessary health care.
