My name is David Boako, and I live in Daboase, a town of about 1,000 people in Ghana’s Western Region. I am a young, small business owner making multi-purpose liquid soaps to supply my community. My soaps can be used for washing as well as bathing purposes. The outbreak of COVID-19 has increased the demand for liquid soaps, however, I require financial capital to purchase the raw materials necessary to meet this demand. I make my soaps in monthly batches, often working long hours to meet my customer’s demands.
I am requesting a total of 4000 GHS to expand and scale my business. These funds will be used to purchase the raw materials necessary to pay my team and for soap production including containers for storage, packaging, base, perfume, etc. I am a hard worker who often goes door to door offering promotional materials to the members of my community. These funds will support my scale and ensure my community maintains health hygiene and stays safe during this time.
This is important to me because washing with soap under running water can help prevent Coronavirus and being able to raise this fund will enable me to train other people to learn and acquire new skills to earn an income not only for themselves but also for their families.
